So good and so close!!! Been wanting to go to 1885 for a while but we don't get downtown much at all and they built one practically in our backyard ????. Yay! It lived up to the hype. I'm into funky sandwiches and got the BLT. Yum! Loved the fried green tomatoes. Hubby loved the crab cakes and shrimp cocktail. Service was great too. Would recommend for sure!
1885 has delicious dishes. The Barbecue chicken, collard greens and Mac n cheese is my favorite. The cajun chicken pasta I tried was perfect. Great food. Relaxed atmosphere. Superb service. A Must Try!
Great food! Nice staff.
We our reservation cancelled because they said our phone number didn't work. I'm not sure how they checked it, but its obviously flawed so be careful. Luckily it wasn't too crowded. We went Sunday late morning but were not given a brunch menu. Luckily my wife knew about it and asked for them or else I would have never known. Don't miss out on the brunch as the food was delicious. Wait time to give the order was a little long. Everyone was real nice and accommodating.
Taking off a star because we checked in at 6:44 and we didn't get the text that our table was ready until 9:03 after they told us an hour and a half. And it didn't seem that busy. They were busy, but not that busy. For example, the longest we've ever had to wait at Loveless Cafe in Nashville is two hours. Now THAT is a busy restaurant. Luckily, we grabbed seats at the bar to eat right after checking in.
That said, the fried okra/pimento cheese and pita wedges app we always get at the St. Elmo location was great. We split the fried chicken with green beans and mash with creole gravy. The chicken had a cornbread type of batter that was crunchy and tasty. That was an awesome entree. Everything was hot and good. Plated beautifully.
Service at the bar was friendly and very good.
This area and Cambridge Square are booming. This is the kind of development you'd see in any city outside of Chattanooga, but never here -- until now. A breath of fresh air.
It is fantastic to have this restaurant n Ooltewah. Bread pudding, scallops, blackened trout, gumbo, hush puppies, steaks frittes- literally everything we had tonight was delicious. Tonight was a bit of a trial run. Our server was Sarah and you would do well to ask for her. She was helpful and attentive and so accommodating. Again, we are super thrilled to have 1885 in the neighborhood. You should go.
