Excellent meal and service. Interesting twists, like the scallops with blueberries and jalapenos - delicious. Nice atmosphere with creative touches. Open, unobtrusive, kitchen. Not a loud environment - you can actually talk to your friends. Staff addressed dietary restrictions effortlessly. Curated wine selection with good range. Wonderful addition to Old City, we'll be back.
Great food and exceptional service! I visited when they first opened and was blown away by the food. Delicious! For dessert, I asked if they could make an espresso martini and the bartender went to the store, got the supplies, and made our table a round! They really went above and beyond with every aspect of our experience! I will definitely be returning!
I’m afraid I’m going to have to agree with reviewer Chelsea Belcher. I went to Rebel shortly after they opened and while a tad pretentious, the food was excellent. I went back this past weekend and was disappointed. Portions were quite small (yes, I understand and appreciate the farm-to-table concept and don’t expect massive portions. But I shouldn’t leave hungry either after three starters and a full entree) and many of the dishes we tried had interesting concepts but lackluster execution. The bread we were brought was nearly raw in the center (I used to work for an artisan bakery), although I appreciated that the server tried to find some that was more fully baked after I asked. My friends ordered the duck as an entree and it was likewise undercooked. My entree of spring vegetables was interesting but didn’t live up to expectations (or the prices). My final verdict would be that staff is great, atmosphere is lovely, but the food needs work.
This was the best dining experience I’ve had in Knoxville! I had some friends visiting and my coworker recommended it. I’m so glad he did!!! The food is fresh, flavorful and creative! I want to also point out that the service was outstanding! Our servers name was Ian. You could see his enthusiasm for the food and his level of hospitality went above and beyond. Going for brunch next time!
Kind of sad to edit this review but my family went back about a month ago and it really wasn’t good. We were all so confused. Turns out the chef we had originally had left and someone new has taken his place. I think we will give it another try so three stars for now.
Really such a fan. The six of us went last night, and it was really one of the best meals we’d had in Knoxville. We have been to many other upscale, local owned places and totally enjoyed ourselves, but this experience was even better. It was everything from the drinks to the homemade bread to the starters to entrees and dessert. It was an experience, more than just a dinner. The bread is freshly baked. The starters were like a piece of art. I got the beet starter and we also got the crab legs, the mushroom bolognese, and the scallops. So good! Then our table we got an array of the beef flank, fish, and duck. All of the flavors complimented each other nicely. It was aesthetically pleasing and tasty. You guys are doing a great job!
