Stan's Country Restaurant

We enjoy going for a Sunday drive and today stopped at Stan's. Very glad we did. They actually know how to cook white beans. Had them with the Smoked Beef dinner. My husband had Country Fried Steak and Eggs. It was all very delicious. Friendly staff and good prices. We will be back.

My wife and I had breakfast, country.fried steak and eggs. The food was good and the hash browns might have been cooked in butter. The coffee was good.our server was friendly and attentive. In contrast to some other comments, we only saw one fly the whole time we were there. I would eat here again but only on occasion as this type of food is not healthy to eat all the time. We enjoyed the gift shop too and they have a C-store attached with beer and groceries.

Good food and great service. First time, but I saved it for one of my favorite places.
I order catfish, collard greens,. Delicious an Green Tomatoes for an appetizer. And sweet Tea. Atmosphere was beautiful. Just loved the place period..

Could have gotten a much better rating except for the FLIES! The damn things were EVERYWHERE... Not that the poor staff and servers weren't trying EVERYTHING to get rid of them...
The dinner was SURPRISINGLY GOOD.. country ham, greens and pinto beans, red eye gravy... chicken tenders, fried okra and fries. Fried green tomatoes were particularly well done.. first experience with their "cracklings " in cornbread.. I anticipated small "johnny cakes" ..nope cornbread with chunks of pork rinds.. okay but, not an instant "fan" of them. Red eye gravy... dipped the country ham then drank the rest.. very very tasty.
Chicken tenders dipped in house not commercial fare.. excellent chicken, nicely breaded HOT! We've marked it for a possible return trip.
