Angelo's Picnic Pizza

I had such high hopes for this place. I had heard really good things about their other location, and I was looking forward to trying their pizza.

I was disappointed.

Mainly I super disappointed by their canned mushroom situation.

We ordered a 2 topping pizza: sausage and mushroom. Overall, the rest of the pizza was fine. However, it was very apparent they use canned mushrooms. The mushrooms on the pizza look exactly like the ones I have in my pantry.

On top of that, the mushrooms didn't even look cooked.

Maybe we'll give them another chance sometime, and stay away from the mushrooms (which is a shame, because they are my favorite topping!).

Angelo's Picnic Pizza is a great little place in Smyrna…they have a sweet lunch deal of two one-topping slices and a fountain drink for $9. This is the pizza shop that used to be in the Hickory Hollow Mall…dined there many times back "in the day". The slices are huge and very good. I decided on plain cheese and there was nothing plain about these slices. The crust was crispy, light sauce but had good flavor, and the cheese tasted fresh. If you are looking for a slice you can fold like NY street slices, here you go. Easy to fold and they hold up, one slice I actually folded it four times! Great food and the customer service was exceptional. Jacqueline behind the counter is awesome…a bright smile and a wonderful personality. She lights the place up!

We came here for a company event and we had the best time. Joey and his staff catered to over 30 people with a smile and got the food out fresh and fast.

This was the best pizza I’ve had in the area, I will be coming here again. The prices were reasonable for the size of the pizza and the quality. If you want to support a family business this is the place to go.

Cozy little pizza joint. Good pizza, good prices, Great service.
They heat up your by the slice pizza in the oven, no soggy heating lamp crust here!
They build your cannoli (not pictured, I was too slow) when you order, so it's nice and crisp.

This wonderful pizza shop just opened near where I live.
Warm, inviting and relaxing atmosphere with comfortable seating for any group indoors or outdoors.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Pizza was ready quickly.
Pizza was perfect. I got the 12’ pesto and added mushrooms to it.
Crust is the right thickness and crunch.
