This place is big on the pig - serving up the Best pork in town.
Sides are pretty great too. Not sure what’s in the mac n cheese - but dang it’s good
Service was hit or miss. Most staff was awesome. A few duds - not enough to ruin the experience though.

Great BBQ and amazing service. Every server was attentive and kind. We got a rack of ribs, half dry rub and half with sauce, pulled pork and brisket. The sides were mac and cheese, green beans and collard greens. We also ordered the pulled pork nachos and a side of beans (not pictured). There was also a variety of BQ sauces that were pretty good.

This just happens to be my favorite Memphis style BBQ. The prices and quality are amazing! It's quick, popular, and beyond laid back. This is an open place to enjoy some of the best food with good people. I would recommend not going in the dead of summer as it gets very warm in the eating areas.

First time in Memphis, and I asked everyone I talked too for the first day there where to get the best BBQ in town and just about everyone told me Central was the place. I got a plate that had 3 meats so I could sample a few things on my first visit to this legendary Memphis restaurant.

I must say, I was exactly blown away, but I enjoyed it. The ribs were very good. Perfect doneness and good flavor. Sausage was delicious.

I'm not sure if it's always like this but the texture of my brisket was a little more along the lines of roast beef. I'm used to "melt in your mouth" tender brisket that's cut in thick slices where I'm from in VA. This was really dangerously close to deli meat in terms of both thickness and chew.

Again, I realize BBQ has many variables at play and perhaps I simply came in on a day when the brisket was pulled from the pit prematurely. It's only that it was so different that I can't help but think that is the way brisket is done at Central.

The "sweet" sauce complements the ribs very well and the sides I had were excellent.

They also have a great selection of craft beer from the area if you're into that.
