Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous

My go to Rib place in Memphis. This is the MUST when eating ribs in Memphis. The ribs are fantastic. The service is great. The atmosphere is great. Just follow the great smell from anywhere in downtown Memphis to find this wonderful spot. I wasn't disappointed and neither will you.

Very tasty ribs. I didn't check their hours and walked in 3 hours before they opened. Instead of turning me away, they graciously said the only thing they could offer me at the moment was ribs or a Greek salad. I was there for ribs, so we were in business. The dry rub flavor was great, my batch was neither super moist nor dry, very enjoyable. I didn't use/need sauce. Their beans had some zip and the cole slaw was tangy! They went out of their way to take care of me, and that boosts them to the rare five-star rating! I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in Memphis. Thanks, Rendezvous!

I went for the hype, I was pleased. We got their for a late lunch and got the dry rub ribs and they were tasty. Best in Memphis? I don't know about that, they were the best I had that day anyway... Cool atmosphere for sure. Nothing negative, way better than average IMO, just not 5-star.

We were treated very well at the bar. Bought a cook book! The food makes you want to sit there a long time to enjoy the flavor. Very well done. We keep meaning to try other places when we are in the area but end up at Rendezvous each time.We like the brisket most. Sometimes it is busy but we seem to get great service at the bar.
