Swanky's Taco Shop Downtown

Nice locally owned restaurant. They have great food and drinks. The atmosphere and staff are very friendly. Have gone many times and never had a bad experience. Sometimes the service has been slow. The place always seems clean and well kept. The prices are very fair and it’s in a great part of town.

First time in Memphis, TN and I definitely recommend you visit this place. The restaurant was clean and organized, we were seated immediately. The wait staff is amazing, our waiter was D’Angelo and he was awesome! The food was delicious I myself had the steak fajitas and a Sangria and the wait was reasonable. The portion size let’s just say I had enough for lunch the next day. I would definitely visit them again.

I loved the hard shell taco! I want one now. Perfect name for the decor. Cant with to try something else.

I’ve always LOVED Swanky’s catering whenever someone orders it at work. My dining-in experience at this location certainly changed my opinion of the chain. After a 30-minute wait to be seated, it took over an hour to get a few tacos, and they were mediocre at best. I might have missed it on their menu, but it seems at this location you cannot simply order basic shredded chicken or ground beef tacos with build-your-own toppings, rather you choose between assigned menu options (again, I could have missed this and the waiter wasn’t aware of it, but would certainly have preferred this setup). Perhaps they just can’t handle weekend crowds yet at this new location – Will give it another shot later, and will gladly chow down on their delicious catered meals whenever it’s around.
