My wife and I spent our wedding anniversary and Shelby County at Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park.
On our way to the park we discovered Sara Lee’s restaurant on Highway 51. The food is wonderful! Nicely seasoned and all you care to eat. On the way headed back home we stopped to eat for our second time. LOL
We met Miss Sarah and had a nice conversation with her while we ate. We both highly recommend this restaurant! November 13, 2019
Food was out of this world.... Great Customer Service. And it a soul food buffet. All they ask if you don't waste food or you have to pay $10. Lol that's fair. One of my favorite stops now. Great owner as well he even pulled his selves up to help.
Small buffet but 8 vegetables, 3 meats, a very tasty salad bar, tasty banana pudding. Enjoyed the coziness of the dining room, very tasty southern cooking . Very reasonable prices for a buffet. Wish it was closer to home.
I had purchase a to-go plate. I had love the southern hospitality fron the hostesses. Great food, and to be honest the corn muffins are not like my mother's. They are not sweet like cake. Everything else has soul and love in the food. And only people who will understand that statement are food lovers.
What a wonderful place to visit it's almost like you never had lost touch with a friend or family member. The two young ladies who are the hostess are wonderful! I highly recommend this place.
The menu is reasonable which is just a buffet. It goes up a dollar more to I believe $9.99 after a certain time frame.
The collard greens are exactly how my mother had cooked them. The collard greens have brought back wonderful childhood memories. The sauerkraut is full of flavor. The banana pudding is just perfect it's not too sweet.
Stopped by one Sunday after church with my family and had a wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent, fresh, hot and seasoned just right. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants great southern home cooking.
