We dined early in the evening, arriving as first customers. The food was delicious and our server, Matthew, was very knowledgeable and attentive. We found the experience relaxing, the entire staff courteous in checking to ensure the food met our expectations.
I am only rating the brunch menu, which had a lot of great choices but the ones I tried lacked a punch. The hot chicken and waffles and crab cake Benedict were cooked correctly with quality ingredients, but they did not have a flavor that was worth going back for. I am ignoring the start up problems because they are expected and the place is beautiful and the staff was great. I think this place could be amazing if the flavors get better.
Had the fortune of being one of the very first customers at 1799 Kitchen. This place has the potential of being absolutely stellar once it figures itself out. The staff were very appropriately apologetic for the startup kinks, but still the food was delicious and their service was intentional. Recommendations would be, number one, get some help with the wine list. Second, play some music (any music) and just simply get comfortable with the friendliness of Franklin. You’ve already well-exceeded any dining establishment in the historic or Cool Springs areas from an aesthetic and comfort perspective, so hold your head high, and let the community embrace the ‘new’. We will. But seriously, the wine list.
