Being from New Orleans I’m a tough critic of Cajun food. Our bread is exceptional and it really makes a huge difference in a good or great poboy or muffuletta. That said the bread here is locally sourced and while it’s pretty good, it doesn’t have the crispness of bread from NOLA. Overall the food was good especially for the Nashville area.
I love Cajun food. Imagine my happiness when I found out about the Gator - Cajun in the Factory if Franklin.
It's a narrow storefront with counter ordering delivered to tables in a small dining area.
Cool artwork, bright and clean with friendly staff and a small menu featuring po boys and other Cajun goodies.
I got jambalaya and was thrilled! Good portion size with pleasant zip and well cooked rice.
Here's the Breakdown:
Nice interior space +1 star; friendly service +1 star; Cajun food +1 star; fresh, hot meal +1 star; good menu selections +1 star.
I, for sure, will go back again.
Great, large po-boys! We had the Gator, Ham & Cheese and Cheeseburger po-boys and they were great. The bread could have been crunchier, but overall they were really good. Service took a while but to be expected on their first Saturday open. We’ll be back!
This weekend, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at The White Alligator, nestled within the charming Factory at Franklin, Tennessee. Despite it being their opening weekend, our experience was nothing short of delightful.
The culinary highlight for my wife was the Alligator Po' Boy, a unique and flavorful twist on a classic. I indulged in the Roast Beef Po' Boy, which was exceptionally delicious, with every bite more satisfying than the last. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the Boudins – reminiscent of croquettes, these little wonders were a perfect blend of crispy and savory, leaving us wanting more.
The service was a tiny bit slow, but given it was their opening weekend, this was completely understandable. In fact, it gave us more time to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the place, which blends rustic charm with a modern twist.
If you find yourself in Franklin, The White Alligator is a must-visit. Whether it's for their unique takes on Southern classics, their cozy and inviting ambiance, or just to experience a slice of Tennessee's culinary finesse, you won't be disappointed!
We stumbled into the very first night open, and really had a nice dinner. The boudin is the best I've ever had, and the crab salad was a hit. Great bar. Fantastic new cajun-inspired restaurant option inside the Factory.
