Black Bear Diner Harker Heights

First time here. The entrance got crowded with customers waiting to be checked in. Wait time was less than estimated. Staff was friendly and helpful. The portions were huge! We had The Grizz Platter, The Hobo Omelet & Strawberry cheesecake. Everything was delicious! We will definitely come back to try the dinner menu.

I have been trying to get to this place forever. A friend of mine and I went by after water aerobics. We were not disappointed. Our server Aura was awesome and the rest of the staff. Our food was delicious it was hot.👊 The French toast was amazing their waffle was outstanding, It tasted like cake and their sausage. 😋 I don't know if they made their own, but it tasted different and looked different, but everything was outstanding. Really enjoyed our experience here. Our waitress Jamie was really nice.
I had the Trip Tip, which reminded me of Sweet Sour Brisket and I didn't care for it. Husband had Chicken fried steak with green beans and fries and he really enjoyed it.
The side salad is a meal for itself.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and will be back.

We've been to many Black Bear Diners in other states and was excited when this one opened a couple weeks ago. I'm really hoping it's still opening jitters but we weren't happy with the service. Our waitress was friendly and the gal walking with the coffee was good about refilling my husband's cup but it took a good hour to get our food and quite awhile to get my son and my drinks refilled. Once the food did come out, we were happy with our meals at least. I plan on giving this location another try down the road because we do love these restaurants!
