Burger Boy

Heard a lot about this hamburger joint. Newest location in Universal City is where I went on a Saturday night right around 6pm. It was about as crowded as I would have expected for Saturday night at dinner time. The drive-thru is jam-packed with lots of cars waiting to go through. Not a very large place. Maybe 10 tables up front and maybe another six or seven in the back. They also have small little stools with a table top around the circumference of one side of the building. Once I place my order and set down it was about a 20 minute wait for my food. Again not too bad for a busy Saturday night. I got the working Man which is basically a double meat Burger I added cheese came with a large fry and a large drink. The french fries are crinkle fries which always taste good no matter who makes them. I wished every place served crinkle fries. The burger was kind of smashed down it didn't really resemble the size of what a double meat double cheeseburger should look like. Also kind of greasy on top of the bun. Overall The taste was good it was kind of what I expected from a double meat double cheeseburger. there's a lot of excitement in San Antonio as they can continue to expand. I guess I would say I recommend that you try it. If I'm in the area and it's right there I'll stop. But not making a special trip just to go to this chain. It was one of those places where it's not bad but it's not awesome but I enjoyed my meal and I think you will too.

So here it is... some people will agree with me and some will not. There are faithful Burger Boy followers here, and it's obvious some have posted the reviews. I was really excited for this location to open. And it Finally did! Everyone else was excited also, you can tell by the long lines! The staff I interacted with were friendly. A couple of questions I asked they couldn't answer, just gave me no answer and his best guess. I'm quoting. I got the Working Man Special, two patty burger, supposed to be with a large fry and large drink. I upgraded to a shake of the month, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, added cheese and bacon. $ almost 14 dollars. Again staff was friendly, not completely knowledgeable yet, but I give them lots of credit. They actually kept the long line moving. It had a good amount of cheese, the bacon was very good. Probably the best bacon on a fast food burger. Or any burger. The bacon was thick and very tasty. I order my burger without pickles. The burger patties were plentiful. Think Whataburger size, definitely not In N Out size. But the patties had no flavor! None at all. The outstanding flavor on the burgers were onion and bacon. The beef was just mass. Almost no lettuce on my burger. Bottom bun was soggy. The crinkle cut fries were good, but I really do not think what I received was a large size. Compared to other chain stores it would be a medium at best. It was a large burger like I said, filling but it did not hit a home run with me. Shake was very good. Fries meah, burger underwhelming. Bacon very good. If they pay attention to the burger patties the way the do the bacon it would be a home run and a definitely go to place. The menu is limited, which really isn't an issue. It's a burger place.

Wow! I'm genuinely surprised at the quality of this place. The restaurant is very clean and the food is wonderful, especially considering that it's fairly inexpensive. Burger Boy, you officially have a new fan!

Our family is used to eating at the original location so we were excited to hear about this new location. When I arrived the line was long but I knew it would be worth the wait. They had multiple staff taking orders so the line went very quickly. I ordered the working man and added bacon and cheese. We also added the Bates and a child burger order with two shakes. Everything was perfect! I'm super excited about this new location and I will be coming back next time I am in the area. Great job Burger Boy !

Burger were delicious! I was worried it was going to be a long wait because of how long the lines were but surprisingly it didn’t take long at all. Service was amazing and the food was HOT! Same experience I’ve received at the other other locations I’ve been too!
