This restaurant is a MUST TRY. Authentic mexican food (not tex mex) with a cozy feel. The food is not cheap, but its worth it. I had the Milanesa Maiz, and it was delicious. I would recomend buying appetizers if you are a big eater. BYOB. The chef came to our table and told us the history of the decorations in the restaurant. There is a hand written recipe at the entrance that came from his grandmother. All of the dishes in the restaurant are family recipes. The tres leches is home made, and is delicious.
A great experience and tasting of more traditional Mexican flavors. Do not expect rice and beans with your plates. That's more of an American theme. Instead, you'll enjoy the bursts of flavors from the use of regional spices and cheeses.
Pleasantly surprised by this new restaurant. The Pozole Verde was really good, as well as the Volcanes (tostadas). Tres Leches de Maiz is great twist to a classic dessert. Nice local and good service. I will definitely be back!
Charging $3 for tortillas doesn’t sit well when you order a tampiqueña or carne en su jugo. The volcan was oily and rubbery, very tough chew, almost like a rubber stale tortilla as a base. Will give it another try but first impressions weren’t very good.
