When I think of a local deli, I think of Bodega. This place is a gem located in Lake Jackson's downtown! From thoughtfully made fries and sandwiches, to robust salads, Bodega also supports its community, from hosting SPCA events on its generous covered outdoor porch, to doing the research to provide quality gluten-free breads (and taste-testing them!) for the city's customers with autoimmune.
Food items include Wagyu meatballs to BLTs done so freshly that the bacon is grilled while you wait. Fries are made in-house.
Gems include its beer selection, as well as quirky snacks from across the globe.
Worth a stop by, and pet friendly! Generous covered outdoor seating.
I was excited to try Bodega, but I do have to say I was pretty disappointed. My husband and I tried here for dinner on 10/13/22 and the atmosphere was nice, I liked the overall vibe of the place, but the food was lacking. I ordered the Ryan I think it was (4 meatball hot sub) and my husband had the phil? (Philly cheese steak with peppers) we sat outside and the food was brought out to us. Both sandwiches were supposed to be serves "hot" but mine was barely warm, none of the cheese was melted, the meatballs were room temperature and there was hardly any marinara on the sandwich. My husband's sandwich came out piping hot, the cheesy was melty and stringy, steam coming off of the sandwich and was nice and hot when biting into it. Where his sandwich was lacking was flavor. Since the sandwiches were cut in 2 we decided to trade half of each of ours so we could try both. The meat on his did not taste seasoned at all, the only flavor came from the bellpeppers that were on it. The chip selection that was available was alright, but definitely sparse. I got the garlic and rosemary chips and those were really good! I will give it another shot in the future but for my first visit I was pretty let down, especially with the amount of great reviews this place has.
Bodega needs to be noticed for their amazing food, excellent customer service with nothing but smiles and friendliness that makes you feel welcomed! This Uncle Fills sandwich is bomb! Please check out Bodega! You won’t be disappointed!
A place to relax eating a good sandwich with your favorite beverage.
Place looks like an old gas station. When we get inside, I had the feeling of being in a supermarket. So I felt a little lost, so I started browsing for the food. People behind the counter, kindly said hello and gave us a paper menu, the menu has space to check what you want to order. The counter was a glass fridge with delicious deserts and cheeses inside, everything looked fresh.
After we order our food, they told us to take a look around the shelves and choose our favorite beverage or chips and pay all together in the cashier. The variety of beverages is huge, if you need assistance or have doubts staff is around to help.
Inside there are only two tables. But outside there are plenty, you can pick your favorite spot. And in a reasonable time they bring your food.
Because the evening was a little chilly we tried the hot sandwiches: Uncle Fill and Betty White. Both of them very different even breads were different but so good. We also tried the Gulf Salad, it was fresh and it came with a citric dressing.
Music was not loud which made it possible to talk and enjoy the evening. I think a little more illumination, maybe a string of lights around, would make the place even more appealing.
5 stars! Excellent, friendly service & very educated on everything beer too! I had a Betty White & the hubs had a Ryan hot sandwich. The Wagyu meatballs were insanely delicious! I tried the Mango Salty Lady beer & was pleasantly surprised. (I'm not a beer drinker!)
Don't miss this fantastic, locally owned place!
