Black Bear Diner Brownsville

This diner is absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. They have plenty of seating with a mix of booths and tables with an open concept dining area. The hostess was so accommodating and welcoming; she greeted us with a smile and was very nice when she changed our seats - the table was too small. The food tastes so fresh and flavorful - we ordered from this diner 3 times during our visit in the valley. Our server was very knowledgeable and quick that our time there seemed seamless. I will be coming back the next time I am in town. I highly recommend this diner to all!

Service was good, food was ok. Seated quickly, drink order taken at a reasonable time. Server checked a couple times. Staff seemed stretched a little thin. Restaurant was clean. I ordered the big bear chicken fried steak, seemed smaller than I remember, side salad was a little yellow and the baked potato was very dry. . Wife had the chicken salad, it was served well. I would be back to try something different

Jeremy was an excellent server! The coffee is their own blend from Nicaragua (100% single origin) it tastes amazing. The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing. The decoration makes it feel like a home in a way. The food is delicious. The French toast was so good I didn't even need syrup! The bacon is just the right amount of crispy! The chicken fried steak was tender as well! I highly reccomend coming here!

I DEFINITELY recommend this diner. Not only was the food amazing but the atmosphere was so nice. The staff were so friendly and welcoming! Our server Rich was amazing and he went the extra mile to make sure our 4 year old daughter had an amazing time. He even bought her a gift from the gift shop just to see her smile. Wow! Thank you for making our daughters day. We will definitely be coming back and making it a regular stop for our family. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.

Great food, great service! 😁 I just came down to the valley to visit my parents from Houston and they suggested we go here since they loved the food the first time they came. It was my first time coming here and it was great!! The food was delicious and hot! The corn muffins are SO good, you have to try them!! The desserts were really good as well. Our server Chris made it a great experience!! He was very attentive, an overall great server. He even had most of the floor to himself towards the end of our visit and was handling it great. I’ve been a server before so I know how it can be really over whelming sometimes but he was doing amazing. A place can have great food but great service is the key to making people come back! Which we will definitely be back! 😁
