The Bullpen Smoke House

I tried the sliced brisket, ribs & the pulled pork. They were all seasoned & cooked to perfection! I also loved the Barbacue sauce also! Clean restaurant & friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

This place was immediately good and immediately filling. Definitely come here if you're looking for tex mex comfort food. Bring a date, it's a great date idea. You will almost guaranteed have leftovers even if you are starvingggg. My only warning is that there's like 3 menus and one of them is extensive, so check the menus out online first, otherwise you will be indecisive as all the menu items are mouthwatering.

Finally, I don't have to leave Brownsville for good BBQ.
Anyone who knows me, knows I know BBQ. I travel Texas in seach of good BBQ from local pitmasters.
The brisket is moist and tender but not overcooked andd soggy. The rub is well balanced. The meat has the correct smoke ring that all good BBQ should have. My wife and son loved the pulled pork. again well balanced flavors and tender meat. Prices are on par with other great smoke houses around Texas. Their potatoes are also cooked right and loaded with tasty fixin's
two draw backs. they close at 5pm and they don't have sweet tea to complete the Texas BBQ experience.

what got me was the way they make their potatoes. from the first bite i knew, and later the owner explained to me, that they remove all the potatoe inside mash it up and then put it back into the skin with all the toppings.

Ive tried the brisket several ways and all of them have been great. super moist, tender, and the seasoning is the best.

talking about the seasoning, i feel that they twice season everything before and after cooking and its amazing on the chicken and texas twinkies. it kind of builds up this crust and is so flavorful.

very often you go to bbq places that have good meat and their sides are so so. NOT here. All the sides are AMAZING. we love the beans, potato salad, and rice. I personally do not like most cheesy sides but my wife loved the mac and cheese.

Delicious!!! It does take a while to get your food but it’s worth it. Best I had so far and the owner is involved making sure you get your stuff. Loved it. Picture of food is called “triple crown”
