This restaurant is new in the area and we wanted to try it out. We were really looking forward to some solid Indian food but this is more Indian/American fusion. The menu is all over the place.
We tried the butter chicken, tanderi chicken wings and the chicken sandwich with fries.
The butter chicken was okay but the flavor was a bit bland. I did like the amount of protein in the dish but there were some not so great chicken pieces.
The tandoori chicken wings were great I loved the flavor and the naan-nacho chips.
On a low note the actual naan was more like stale pita and the rice would be better if it were a longer grain.
The chicken sandwich, if fresh from the fryer, would probably be pretty tasty, but this was not as good to go. It reminded me as if general Tso's chicken were to be made into a chicken sandwich, in a good way.
Almost forgot the fries, they were great.
Overall, this place is ok. They need to tone down the fusion, better embrace indian flavors/spices, and make better Naan.
Chicken sandwich is made with thigh meat (wish it was chicken breast) - taste wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. The meat was tough to chew. Garlic naan is just butter with garlic salt or something, not fresh garlic. Didn't even taste the garlic. Fries were the best part of the meal. Basmati rice is plain without seasoning, nothing special.
My experience with Bengal Bay Grill was a tad disappointing. I feel I had this experience because my expectation was set pretty high. My gym is in the same parking lot, so I have been patiently waiting for the Grand Opening. I ordered the Fish and Chips and The Ice Cream Sunday.
The Fish and Chips were ok. It reminded me of Long Joh Silvers with extra bread on it. The Sunday was fantastic:)
The place is described as a "fast-casual, high-energy concept featuring American Fare With an Indian Flair”. And it's lived up to that with great food that bridges the gap between Indian spices and the American pallet
This restaurant has extraordinary service as well as enjoyable food. My favourite place around town. The meals came out fast and the prices were fair. I recommend this place.
