Yokohama is the definition of hole in the wall restaurant. You get all of the taste and flavors of a 5 star omakase, with the feel of eating a home cooked meal. There are only 3 tables but it keeps the atmosphere light, the food quick, and personal feel to your meal experience. At less than half of the price of other omakases, you’ll leave full-and-a-half, and even without asking, the chef and his lovely wife will make sure you don’t leave with space in your belly. Best omakase experience we’ve had and definitely worth the trip to this gem hidden in Addison!
I came in around 4pm and ordered a sushi Bento and kamikaze roll ($41) to go. Very unassuming place in a somewhat industrial part of Addison (near the airport and aviation museum). There are three tables (6-top, 4-top, and 2-top). This place is immaculate and simple. The seafood to rice ratio is generous (see my photos). I will have to come back to try the omakase. Chef David Lee recommends that you make a reservation for the omakase.
If you want delicious sushi and sashimi, definitely check this place out.
Highly recommend this place to sushi lovers! Seafood is super fresh and very tasty! The portion is also large. The chef is very professional and friendly, and so is the server! Very kid-friendly and definitely willing to go back!
We went there for omakase. Small mom-and-pop shop. Owner/chef and his wife/waitress are super friendly. Fish was fresh and delicious. Presentation was simple and plain, but b/c of that you get a lot of bang of your buck. The store it self is not the most romantic spot to take your date to, but again, if you would like to get fresh sushi at a very reasonable price, this is the place.
Owner advised us 3-hr advance notice for omakase is a MUST. They added that a 24-hr advance notice would be nice.
Food was very fresh and delicious. Also great service! I ordered the sashimi bento box that usually comes with a California roll, but mentioned to my husband on the side that next visit I'd try to get the spicy tuna roll. The chef subbed the original California roll with spicy tuna roll without me even asking!
Husband got the salmon roll and tempura shrimp roll. Planning my trip back soon!
