This place was great from customer service to the food. Like any great restaurant they will run out due to high demand not lack of supply. I’ve been on multiple occasions as the collard green egg rolls are my new favorite food. I’ve brought a couple different groups and each one was always please the owner is so sweet and personable made me feel at home. I appreciate it and highly recommend it. One night we went a little before closing and it was people complaining about missing menu items but what can you expect from a restaurant with good food at the last hour of the night, first come first served. I couldn’t complain because I was last minute, I just appreciated the good food. Thanks for not disappointed and being part of black excellence

I stumbled on this gem earlier today when my son & I were looking for a spot to have lunch. I was beyond happy with the atmosphere, staff, music, drinks and especially the food. I'm a very picky eater and hard to satisfy. This place did not disappoint. We had the smoked turkey collard greens egg rolls for an appetizer they were amazing. We took our meals to which were The Cat and the hat (creamy cheese grits topped with fried catfish OMG is was great. Also the Country Bumpkin (meatloaf, collard greens,Mac & cheese and sweet potatoes it was delicious and also the Oxtails were exceptional. Please treat your self to this establishment you won't be disappointed.

Ok so let me just start off by saying that the food is amazing and super delicious!!! The restaurant looks super clean and has a really cool vibe and the music is awesome! I do have some negatives to say about this place or should I say more like constructive criticism. I called in to order take out and the young lady who took my order was having trouble taking my order. She put me on hold like 3 times and kept forgetting what I was ordering. I got there to pick up my food and my order was incorrect. she couldn’t figure out how to delete the charge. The food does take a while but I think it’s worth the wait. Just keep that in mind and prepare to be patient. The hostess, although super sweet and adorable, definitely needs more training on how to communicate in a restaurant setting. I will still come back here because like I said before the food is delicious. This place has a lot of potential!!!!

I have been driving by this place waiting for it to open. And they did not disappoint. Here’s what I’ve had since they opened: Sweet peach tea, Southern Girl, Chicken and Cornbread Waffles, Fried Collard green egg rolls, Mac and cheese, fried Catfish, fried okra and the buttery cornbread muffins. Everything tasted so good. Oops! I almost forgot the most important part but it’s not on the menu “Service with a SMILE” and Old fashioned “Southern Hospitality”. We Can’t wait to go back. Thank you to the Chef and to all the staff for making us feel right at home. Dine In and take out.

    We had:
    fried green tomatoes
    red beans and rice
and catfish w/grits (Cat in the Hat)

We found this place by accident on the way home from work and

    LET ME TELL YOU,

I'm *picky* about my fried green tomatoes--and these were PERFECT. I hate it when restaurants claim to be Southern and they haul out some mealy undercooked tomatoes fried in gritty sandpaper flour BUT THIS PLACE fried those babies in *cornmeal*, and they were *perfection*.

The red beans and rice were spot-on and I love that they add a little collard greens in the mix, and the catfish and grits were SO GOOD. I normally go straight for shrimp--but the catfish was the BEST idea.

I really hope this place keeps it up because we'll definitely be back.
