Epic party spot, bring the whole crew. This place can accommodate practically any family or group. Great beer selection, happy hour is generous and affordable. Servers are fast, friendly and smiling. Live music, but be forewarned, there is no AC in the main hall. Only the side building, which is sufficiently sized for most occasions. We will be back soon, especially in the summer and spring.
Really love this place, the environment, food, and staff are all wonderful! The venison burger is absolutely delicious 100% of the time. My friend was feeling something lite and got the pretzel (I stole some from her). It was delicious and had the consistency of a summer cloud.
I like the relaxing environment. I ordered Reuben with corned beef, which didn’t surprise me.
I went there at 6pm and sat in the middle of the arched roof area. The house is like a warm house trapping the heat. I could definitely feel the heat from top so I had to leave as soon I finished my meal…Make sure to sit somewhere cool.
Update on this review. 3/26/2019...We have eaten here the past two weekends in a row. The food remains excellent and the service was fantastic. Hunter is an amazing server. I'm changing the review from four stars to five!
Older post review...The food was excellent. Normally service is of the chain, but tonight was busy and we sat for 30 minutes and I had to get a waitress and ask who was working our table because no one came around to take even a drink order. She informed me she was the waitress for our table. She had passed by us on numerous occassions. ???????????????? I gave four star because of this situation tonight. Usually I give this place a five star. BTW! They have gluten free buns and bread for those with an intolerance to gluten like us. The venison burger was amazing. We will be back because we really do enjoy the place. Oh the fire pits and heaters make the place even better and we were cozy and warm tonight.
When in New Braunfels, this is the place I crave. Always great food. Seemingly endless beers on tap, which is a great reason to take visitors. Make sure to sit "outside" in the beer garden, as the structure is pretty amazing and they have really cool flame-boxes during cold weather. Not to mention that it's DOG-FRIENDLY! Dog-watching is such a bonus! Must start with the hot pretzel. I don't know how they get such big flavor out of a simple hot, soft pretzel, but it never fails. We also always order the roasted Brussels sprouts, they are tender, toasty, and with that perfect rich flavor from olive oil and Balsamic. The Reuben sandwich was spot-on. But, my new go-to is the Cheeseburger. I was told that they actually grind the meat fresh right before grilling it, so the flavor is unusually delicious. I'm not much of a red meat eater, either, but this burger has made a convert out of me.
