Pretty cool spot, definitely different compared to other steakhouses in the area. Manager was nice and the chef even came to talk to us to make sure we loved the food.
Crab cakes are the best and definitely worth the trip. Cocktail recommendation:🍹 try the ‘Crown Apple Twist’, OMG so delicious.
I’m giving 4 stars because they pick and choose who is in dress code. They won’t allow some to dine-in that have nice jeans on, but allow people in that look like they just came in from mowing grass or working in a mechanic shop changing oil all day🙄. Just saying...that was kinda weird.
Most entrees are expensive but next time I’m just getting crab cakes and cocktails. If you want a different experience than these other big time steak houses you need to come to this place. Definitely “Soulful”, but maybe adding some variety to the 80’s jazz elevator music, would help guests not leave so tired. Just saying...
Would definitely recommend
Great restaurant! Food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere is very nice. The decor was really nice and unique. I would have given them 5 stars but they messed up 3 out of 4 meals.😟 BUT the waiter made it right! 😍 Loved the visit and will definitely be going back.
Brunch was amazing.
The ambience was so warm and welcoming and we loved the waterfalls.
We started off with mimosas and fruit. Then moved on to enjoy Catfish, fried shrimp, and CREAMY cheddar grits with a side of collard greens (favorite side). I had to emphasize creamy because those grits were amazing.
I always have to enjoy a sweet as well so I included an order of waffles. They had a great sweet flavor and the syrup came out with its own warmer to keep it at the perfect temperature.
10/10 I recommend 🤩
Booking reservations was easy and stress free even during Black Restaurant Week. My friend and I went for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere was great; laughter, amazing food and drinks. I had the lamb chops- get them! They are phenomenal. I tried to eat the bone. The shrimp and grits, collard greens, rice and stuffed chicken were perfect. Chef Howard is a beast! I will be back!!
Reservations
The trick about eating at DJ's Steakhouse is if you want to be seated by 8:30pm then you need to book your reservation for 8:00pm. Reservations and getting seated seems to be where they struggle. We made reservations for 8:30pm. We arrived at 8:30pm. We were seated at 9:00pm.
Service
Gabby was our waitress. She always kept us informed on the status of drinks, food, etc. Very classy and professional.
Ambience
it was loud. I felt like we were in a sports bar. There were so many monitors and projections of the basketball game on. Felt like we were in Buffalo Wild Wings and not a steakhouse.
Food
Starter: Stuffed Shrimp (they served them in quantities of 3. We had to fight over the last one. ) VERY GOOD!
Main Course: Lamb w/ Aperagus & Cabbage - It was good. Not the worst and not the best.
