I am so glad this came up when I did a Yelp search for chicken. Lao fried chicken!!! This chicken will make u cluck!!! It’s that freakin good!!
I got the spicy 3 piece which consist of two legs a thigh, fried and a side. It wasn’t hot spicy at all. It’s more of a heavier seasoning vs heat. The salty vs sweet balance is wonderful. The seasoned fries are the way to go. I also opted for sticky rice; which is a favorite of mines. The spicy ketchup has a kick and goes hard. I also loved the DJ sauce.
Above all I have as amazed by the love I received from those who work here. I felt like family and could feel they put 100% into their food.
I will definitely be back for more!
I got the vegetarian tenders and was so surprised with how good they were! I would definitely come back.
Removed 1 star because the sesame cucumbers tasted like they were made with a pound of salt. They were inedible
Small space for indoor dining but a nice couple let us share their table with them.
Service was amazing gave suggestions and everyone was friendly. Chicken was juicy & tender and all sides were delicious. Was not disappointed and will definitely return to try other items!
Many people are probably wondering if this is Khao noodle shop level cuisine. I'd say no after my first time in. That doesn't necessarily mean it's not good, it's just not as influential as the former restaurant was. One of the biggest turn offs for me is the price. I don't think I've ever had a four piece plus rice or fries cost $20 dollars. I was surprised sauce wasn't included either. The whole menu seems cheap but when you start ordering sides and sauces to make it a full meal it adds up fast. In my opinion I think you should merge some of the options. Maybe have some meal deals that are almost like samplers? Nothing crazy but just add a little more variety. The four piece, fries or rice, cucumber or elote and one sauce, for $20. I'm just surprised considering once you actually order a full meal it's around $35. I'd consider coming back in a few months.
I had high hopes and really wanted to give them 5 stars but it just fell short. The chicken didn’t have as much flavor as I expected given how they describe it. The fried shrooms were bland. The cole slaw was not at all what I expected, super mayo heavy and strange in flavor. Overall a disappointment. And really high prices for fried chicken. They charge $1.50 for about a tablespoon or 2 of sauce. And the food needs the sauce because there isn’t enough flavor. We probably won’t go back.
