Đồng Quê Restaurant

My family and I have been going to Dong Que for years but I never wrote a review because it really speaks for itself among the Vietnamese community. Dong Que is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant that has a pretty extensive menu with delicious food. I believe (if I remember the story correctly) that Dong Que came about several years ago when some of the staff at Saigon Block decided to leave and open up their own restaurant. If you like the famous baked catfish with crispy skin at Saigon Block then Dong Que has got you covered - it's pretty much identical. The only thing different is there are slight variations in the dipping sauce for your spring rolls. Oh and they don't charge extra for all other stuff you need for your spring rolls.

I love their menu because they have your basic pho, vermicelli, rice plates, etc. but they have SO much more! Bring the fam and try out their house specials but most importantly - get the Ca Nuong Da Gion (baked catfish w/crispy skin) and Bo 7 Mon (7 courses of beef). If you're not feeling that festive then their entrees are pretty decent. Their nui xao bo luc lac is like comfort food for me - I really enjoy the combinatio

Dong Que was a nice discovery. I stopped in for a quick lunch with colleagues and was pleasantly surprised. It seems very simple from the outside, but the inside is tastefully furnished and inviting. The service was fast and the food was delicious. I recommend the spicy noodle soup. Some of the meat had bits of fat clinging to it, and there was a large bone in the bottom of my bowl, but all of that added to the richness of the flavor. The seasoning was perfect. I can't wait to try more items on their menu.

I honestly like this place 10 times more than Bistro B. Bistro has a huge selection, but this place has just as good of a selection, but with better flavors.

The restaurants holds a lot of people, always busy, and pretty quick wait staff. It feels clean, and have never had an issue.

This is my go to Vietnamese restaurant.
