Highly recommend the Barrel! Great drinks (favorite - Elderflower sour), awesome food (definitely try the Ribeye meatballs and the Chicken Fried NY Strip), and attentive service. We really enjoyed the atmosphere too - particularly the patio. We will definitely be returning.
Service was great. Manager was present and attentive. The drinks, green beans, creamed collards and mash potatoes were the best part! The salmon was great too. Next visit we will go for drinks and dessert. They have angel food cake! 😍
Had the Bone Marrow appetizer, mussels, crab roll and 2 salads. Drinks were great, food presentation well done but lacked flavor. Salad dressing was bland, crab was over mayonnaise or something and bone marrow underwhelming with an excessive sweetness that ruined it. House made ketchup was thin with a consistency of melted butter, lacked flavor, and did not stick to the fries. Fries were too many small pieces, perhaps bottom of the barrel. Asked for regular ketchup and salt/pepper. Both came too late in the meal to really make a difference. The atmosphere was awesome, staff great. Hopefully they will make improvements. I live in the area and want the restaurant to be a success. We will give another try. I saw the other owner responses for a voucher. I don’t want a voucher, happy to pay, just improve!
Booked reservations for last Friday night (6/3). We asked for patio seating and it was fantastic. No appetizers this trip, but my wife had the Sea Bass, while I went with the scallops. Both dishes were perfectly prepared. Blake has built an excellent whiskey selection and I'm sure it'll only get better. Being that the restaurant has just recently opened, we were sort of expecting some hitches in service as waiters get accustomed to a new space. Quite the contrary, service was excellent. We'll definitely be back.
Word of caution, prices are what you'd expect for a high-end restaurant, but it's not over the top expensive. It's really nice having another steak and seafood place in the area.
The restaurant is spacious, modern and upscale. The patio looks like it will be a hit. The staff is polite and attentive. The diverse menu offers a variety of options from salads, burgers and a few eclectic things I had to Google. Everything we had was great. The wine and whiskey selection is extensive, with a great craft cocktail menu. We saw some nice looking drinks around the restaurant. The Barrel is a fun addition to the area for date night!
