Mrs. Lively's Cajun Konnection

My husband and I loved it here. For appetizer we ordered fried pickles and alligator balls, we order the sea food basket ( fried catfish butterfly shrimp and fried oysters)and corny dog for our son from the kids menu; it was yummy. For me the fried catfish was my favorite, my 5yr old son kept eating my fried catfish that's how good it was. I'm coming back just to eat that???? Thanks for the great service.

The food was delicious and the staff was very inviting, even though it was fairly clear we were the first guests for the day. The owner came out and spoke with us - he was very nice and obviously proud of his restaurant. And proud he should be - the food was delicious!
I personally had the shrimp and grits and my friend had the off-the-menu pasta with chicken. We shared a side of the alligator balls. All of it was amazing - my friend even commented that we have to come back - even though she lives 45 minutes away in Allen.

Would give 4.5 stars if possible. The Fried Catfish was great!... Large moist and tender fillets with a light and crispy cornmeal coating with homemade tartar sauce. The Blackened Catfish was also delicious!... moist and perfectly seasoned. And for being a cajun seafood place, it was shocking how good their Chicken Fried Steak was!!... Big tender and juicy with a tasty crispy coating with delicious light brown cream gravy. All the entrees were fantastic!! The fried okra and french fries weren't crispy enough for me, but I'm not a huge fan of french fries, so no biggie.

The service was fast and very friendly. This is a family owned and operated restaurant, where "Mama" and her Son both came and greeted us at our table and made us feel like we were part of the family. They were so loving and genuine and so proud to share their delicious family recipes! Overall, it was a great meal and a great experience. I will definitely be back!

The food is great especially the catfish. The staff are very friendly and the owner really makes you feel at home. This will definitely be my go to place when I want some fish. I would give five stars but they don't have a patio and I can really see myself hanging out there in the summer if they did. BTW it is BYOB.
