Excellent little place in a little town. Serves breakfast and lunch, closes at 2pm. The chicken fried steak is massive, flaky, tender, and delicious! The breakfast menu is extensive, so it should be easy to find something. Didn't know about lunch, because a lunch menu was not offered even though it was 11am and they were serving lunch, which is what I wanted. Other than that the food is great and the staff is friendly.
Loved the vibe of Old West Cafe. It was packed for Father's Day. For breakfast I just had oatmeal and coffee being on a diet and all. My buddy had a traditional breakfast of eggs, ham, hash browns, etc. and could not finish the huge portions. Our server was exceptionally nice and cute too. She kept our coffee cups topped off. It's a great destination for a country road motorcycle outing, just off FM 455 which we road from Anna, TX. In other words, motorcycle friendly.
I have been going to the Old West Cafe' in Sanger for years. I have friends from as far as Minnesota that insist on grabbing breakfast there every time they come to the area. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff is amazing, Sandy and Veronica, every server I have ever had has been amazing. In fact, if I got service half this good at any other restaurant I would be pleased. Add to that, an amazingly varied menu and magnificent food and you'll see that they really do have a winning combination in Sanger. If you haven't been there yet, make plans to go, you won't be disappointed! -Brian.
It used to be perfect! But in last year or so, it is going downhill. It is like they made their reputation and now aren't trying to win anyone over to get word of mouth out, as if it is unnecessary now. My food this last time was cooked way too hot and ruined. Waitress and manager didn't care. I had been there at least 75 times, they knew my name, but will not go back.
I am glad we found this hole-in-the-wall cafe. We wanted breakfast, but didn't want McDonalds or anything like that. We wanted a down home country breakfast and that is exactly what we got! Excellent food and fantastic waitstaff. For the amount of food portions you get, the prices were dead on! Will definitely make a Sunday drive down here for breakfast and will even try their lunch menu!
