Portillo's the Colony

Was so excited to have this food again. We had it in Chicago back in 2021 one late night and never forgot about it. We didn’t mind the long line at all. The food was just as good as we remembered it. We both had the Chicago style Hotdogs (#2) with fries and cheese sauce and oh boy.. the chocolate cake!! DELISH! Reminded me of the cake my mom used to make when I was growing up. So glad you’re here — we will be back soon!!

Italian beef here is awesome! Great flavor, just like when I had it back in Chicago. I order the beef bowl with the house bread loaf and sides of extra gravy, trust me on this, you want the extra gravy, at least three or four. I order extra beef bowls, house bread, and gravy to package and freeze separately.

We will not eat anywhere else within a 25 mile radius of this location pace. I had the best Italian Beef I’ve EVER had in Texas!! The chocolate cake is not Texas Sheet cake, but it tastes just as good. We also tried The Chicago Dogs. They were spot on and excellent. It’s worth any drive and any wait.
Order your Beef like we do “dipped with juice on the side”. They also have Hamburgers and Salads. We love Portillo’s.

Welcome to Texas, Portillos!!! The taste and quality of the food is just as good as you would get in Illinois! Chicago dog, cheeseburger, Italian beef with sweet and hot peppers and chocolate cake all on deck! I look forward to going back and enjoying the meal on the patio. The wait isn’t so bad with patience and good conversation with fellow patrons. I’m excited you guys are here!!!

Portillo's is here!! The Chicago classic is now in Texas! Highly recommend the Italian Beef Combo dipped in gravy! Also ended up getting the chocolate cake! Tastes just like it does up north! The crinkle cut fries are also great! Due to the long line, I got to go! Cant wait to go again!
