Finally got around to trying TMG Burger Grill for lunch yesterday, and it did not disappoint! I ordered at the counter and they brought my food right to me. I had the Two Step Burger and it was fantastic - well seasoned meat, fresh vegetables, and tasty bun. Too much burger for me to finish. Fries were delicious. Will definitely be back!

I recently had the chance to experience "Old" Katy's newest diner style option. TMG Burger Grill is located in the old Willy Burger space in Tiger Square across from Katy High School.

The atmosphere and vibe is about the same although the color scheme is somewhat different. The look is typical 50's open kitchen diner style.

On this visit I sample the Burger Melt, which is a variation of the classic patty melt. One key difference is this sandwich is served on Texas Toast instead of the traditional rye. TMG is not the only place to serve this variation, and they make it work. The burger overall was well prepared. The toast and patty were both tender, not soggy or mushy. The patty was created from hand ground daily angus beef. I found it had good flavor. The ratio of condiments to the size of the patty seemed on point. My one picky point is that I would have like a bit more caramelization on the onions. That said disappointing this burger certainly was not

As a side I went with the cheddar fries. These were also better than average. Personally if I were going to put a cheese sauce on fires I would have made the fires thicker, crispier or both. Then again those who know me know I prefer a more medium thickness, crispier fry in general any way. I would order these again on a subsequent visit even so.

Price wise they are a bit higher than your typical fast food chain. But as a smaller more mom and pop type operation they are going to be. Still I did not find them overly expensive especially when you consider many of their ingredients are fresher and of higher quality.

I don't find myself in the "Old" Katy part of our area as often as I did in years past. However TMG Burger Grill on balance was more than good enough to be worth taking a special trip the short distance now and then !

Old school vibes with good burgers. Large patties with large tomato and pickle slices. Fries are the natural cut floppy style. They put the perfect amount of chili on the Frito Pies so they don’t get soggy. Patio and bar seating.

My husband and I went for the first time yesterday. I had the Howdy Burger and my husband had the Texas Ranch Burger.

The Howdy Burger was definitely one to try. The combination of pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and the red pepper jelly - wonderfully delicious combination and would recommend.

My husband had the Texas Ranch Burger. He said the burger was very good. The chili with prime rib was definitely a great enhancement to the burger.

The burgers are huge you could most likely share I couldn’t eat half of it. We loved that they hand press their patties. Great!! We will go back and would recommend.

This is an amazing burger joint. The food is fantastic and the portions are more than enough. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're back in the old days. Service was very fast and friendly and the prices are reasonable. Next time I will try the funnel cake or a milkshake. Thanks for an excellent dining experience.
