Black Walnut Cafe

I first tried this particular chain in Dallas and really enjoyed their menu. When I moved to Houston, I noticed they had a few locations around the city and decided to give this particular location a try while at First Colony Mall. It was another great experience with great customer service. I started with a Gin & The Bee cocktail. Order it! Just do it. Fantastic taste and smooth as silk...if you like gin. For dinner, I had the Chicken Bailey which tasted great. This was at 8:00 PM so I'm not sure how fresh the chicken was, but it was what I expected. I finished up with the Key Lime pie with dessert cream on top and was not disappointed. You must order the dessert cream to be added. It's liquid gold! My only critique about this particular location is that parking is an absolute nightmare. It is surrounded by the mall and several other standalone businesses so bring a large dose of patience before arriving.

I love their strawberry green tea and their tomato basil soup. This is a nice place to relax or meet friends or family for brunch or lunch. I love going here!

My family's favorite restaurant. Great atmosphere, and the food is DELICIOUS. The owner, and everyone working there, have always been incredibly nice as well. There is a great variety of food, everything from burgers, to pasta, to salads. It all tastes amazing.

The food is tasty. However, the grits were not all that great. The texture was a bit too crunchy and milky. Maybe that's how they make them I'm not sure. But it left a bad taste in my mouth. The pancakes, sausage, potatoes, and eggs were all great nonetheless. I like the location and general appearance of the restaurant. Very modern and comfortable.

Visited for a quick lunch with a friend and loved the atmosphere. The service was great, loved the menu options and my burger was very flavorful. There was a bit of line (which should be expected because of the location), but it was no big deal. Will definitely be bringing my family back sometime.
