Galvez Bar & Grill

Went for brunch. This is a go to spot in Galveston. Excellent food and service. Great views, ambience and resonable prices. I reccommend going the weekend before or after the big events - i.e. Thanksgiving, Xmas etc. brunches as it tends to be a little less busy!

Sunday brunch is great. Food is great and lots of selections. High quality. Great service. This is a staple on the island. Very well known as a great experience. Price is same as quality meal at many other restaurants. Pace yourself, with so many selections you can end up suffering later... haha. Never had a problem getting a table except during holiday meals like thanksgiving and Christmas. I believe it ends at 2 pm. Usually best to go about 11 am. Highest quality of food.

Probably the best place to stay on the island. This historic hotel has such a calm and beautiful atmosphere. The staff is accommodating and the. The rooms are on the small side, but you probably won’t be spending much time in it. The highlight is the beautiful pool and swim up bar. You can easily wind up with an impressive bar tab by check out time. Directly across the street from the sea wall and the beach.

The atmosphere was very nice. We had free valet service. Most importantly, the food was amazing. The only thing that we didn't like about our visit was that there were people setting up for brunch early at dinner service. It did detract from the view and ambiance. The taste of the food and the wonderful service outweighed the slight bother. We will definitely be back.
