This is a place you must plan ahead of time, like call in. The tamales and BBQ are so great that there is a good chance they already have sold out. A Galveston must!
Good but nothing special. The ribs are akin to homemade ribs, one that the backyard barbecue king makes. It's flavorful and delectable yet not quite enough to enter the county fair. That being said, it's a family business, one we'd encourage everyone to try and patronize. However, don't count on it being at the Killen's or Pinkerton's level
The brisket is very tender and has a good smoke flavor. Chopped BBQ was great. The tamales were just right...not TOO spicy and not greasy at all.
Yum! We couldn't decide between brisket and tamales, so we got both and are glad of the decision. Both were delicious. Brisket can be lean, fatty or mixed -- your preference. It's takeout only (though there is a picnic table just outside if you truly don't have somewhere else to go.) If you can plan ahead for an order to pick up, do that. Parking is limited, so it's not a bad idea to have someone circle the block while another grabs the food.
They have the best tamales. Thier BBQ is also very good. Small local family owned place. Some seating on the patio but great for takeout. Get there early, they sell out fast. Open Thursday through Sunday
