Freshest food around
I really h.e.b. it's fully stocked and the employees are great, stop by and visit...
Three stars is for the food selection and quality. Minus two stars for poor employee attitudes. I have gone three times this week and today was the worst customer service I have had all week. I don't think letting your employees think they will be out of a job in a month when the Café closes is good business practice. The young man working lunch today made a snide comment to another young man (whom I presume was an off-the-clock employee) and then tried to recant his statement to himself and then he remarked, "I'll be out of a job in a month, who cares?" When I asked for my chicken breast to be heated the same young man replied "we have a...yeah whatever". The lady who prepared my orders today also carried a poor attitude throughout my time there. I made a comment to her something along the lines of "he has a crappy attitude" and she mumbled something and gave a shoulder shrug. Not a single smile was displayed, nor any friendly interaction. The more items I requested the more frustration steamed from their persons without any attempt to mask it. Frowny Face lady was also working yesterday and displayed the same sort of demeanor but I dealt with the very nice elderly lady so it did not bother me. Today, the elderly lady was off so I was left to deal with two very disgruntled employees. Wednesday was my first trip to the Café, and I enjoyed what it offered so much so that I proceeded to recruit orders from my co-workers both Thursday and today. To be honest, if I weren't such a stubborn person, hell bent on getting what I want despite the attitudes of others, my experience today would prohibit any future visits. I was disappointed to hear that the Café is closing down soon especially since the food is good and fresh and the convenience is superb. I would image that better financial planning to minimize costs (wasted food must be huge!) and advanced marketing could have led to a successful outcome for the H-E-B Cafés.
