Izakaya Wa

We had an excellent meal (both food and service). Highlights were the tempura and the sushi. The sushi was prepared expertly and the cut and quality of the fish was excellent, however, the rice let them down. The rice is the one thing that did not rise to excellence.... is was a little too hard, too cold, and lacking flavor that I would expect considering the quality of everything else.

Totally awesome food and although packed on a Friday night, I was able to get a seat at the bar. Service can be better but they are trying. Would DEF come back to the new location.

An incredible addition to the Wa family! The new location is huge, with plenty if tables and private rooms. The decor is subdued modern Japanese with some Godzilla posters for color. The food is every bit as good as the original location. Sushi is spot on, and I recommend the pork cutlet curry. It's the best katsu curry in Houston!

Excellent skewers and sushi. Attentive servers, and Lin in the bar was exceptionally helpful in explaining menu options. Glad to have this nearby.

Amazing food! I have tried several small plates off the menu and I have been impressed every time! The owners and staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. This is a Great place for good food...or to just hang out in the bar, which is a full bar, complete with Japanese beer on tap, lychee martinis, wine, and liquor. I recommend this location to all. It is also clean.
