Capt. Benny's Seafood

This is an old time favorite. The staff is always nice and friendly. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars because of the Gumbo recipe change. It use to have crab meat, and had a homemade taste. I can tell the new recipe isn't homemade. Less shrimp and no crabmeat. But the fried fish and shrimp is the best!

Love the Captain for great oysters on the half shell.
It never fails to impress me and very reasonable prices.
Look forward to the next outing.

I will definitely be coming back! The staff has been extremely welcoming, Guy and Kevin had me smile for miles. Sometimes it’s difficult to be so far from home but with places like this takes all off my mind. Definitely try the broiled platter it’s the bomb!

We have eaten here twice. Excellent fried shrimp and oysters. The seafood gumbo was great. I also love that they had pineapple in the coleslaw. It was delicious. My husband and son ate the catfish and loved it. Generous portions for the price. Love coming here when I am in Houston.

Very good food, very friendly multi ethnic staff and customers - very NOT corporate. Working class. It's the kind of place you hope you find when you travel. At least I do.

We ordered baked oysters, fried catfish, fried shrimp and fries. I saw other people enjoying raw oysters and gumbo and bottled beer. It was all delicious and fairly priced - our tab for 2 was just shy of $40 plus tip. We could have reduced that by 1/3 by paying more attention to the specials.
