Daddy's Chicken Shack

Had to try it bc of the bizzare branding I saw every day driving down Shepherd.

Honestly liked the sandwich a lot- the brioche bun is amazing. Fries were super flavorful & crispy. Easy ordering with a self service touch screen kiosk.

Super friendly staff & the place was super clean!

So with a name called "Daddy's Chicken Shack", you'd think that it'd have you weak in the knees and begging for more right? Nah. Quite the opposite actually. I went to the store cause I thought they'd served fried chicken but it was a chicken sandwich. No problem. I got the big daddy sandwich as attached in the pictures.

Upon first appearance, the prices seem a bit high. I paid $12 total for only a chicken sandwich. ONLY, the chicken sandwich. No fries or anything like that. There's the sandwich right there. It looked well dressed but it was hard to swallow and keep down. The bread was dry and I expected more sauce. I wanted to order water but the drinks were around $2.50-$3.00.

It wasn't that good. I'd give it a 3/5 especially for the prices of everything. I was told it was that high because the ingredients are made fresh and it's a big burger but it really wasn't. I wasn't even full after eating it which made me mad because I'm paying $12 for only a BURGER. This isn't a state fair or a food truck. This is a dining place.

For $12, I can get a box combo from Raising canes, a meal from chick fil a, or a good meal from Mcdonalds. At least give me some fries or a cup of water. Almost choked on the sandwich.

I prefer Dave's hot chicken to this. At least you can get fries, drink, and a chicken sandwich for around $12. This place feels like it's trying to be a five guys burgers and fries but for fried chicken sandwiches but guess what? You don't get unlimited toppings or any at all.

I got the Big Daddy burger.

But overall if you want to try it, go ahead but for me, It wasn't worth the money. Unless I have a coupon, I'm not coming back. Place inside was very clean and spic and span. Props for cleanliness and presentation. Lower the burgers by $2-3 per item and you'll have a line out the door.

Employees get a 5/5. They were super friendly and patient. I wish the best for them.

Service was great thanks to Ms. Barbara G, food-especially the load french fries-tasted good. It's like they marinated the red peppers in hot sauce before sprinkling them on the food.

The thing keeping this from 5 stars, though, is the fact that they don't sell milk and the lack of combos on the menus. It's a Spicy Chicken Restaurant that wants to sell you hot and spicy chicken, sometimes as a challenge to see how much heat you can handle, it should have milk to help you cool off.

That, and as the prices for most things are already averaging around $10, it be nice to not pay for every item separately-especially the ones that are meant to be sides.

Stopped by during the soft opening and was greeted by staff and the owner. The menu was explained and so was the mobile order pick up window process. The dine-in area was comfortable and there was fountain drinks and iced tea available. I ordered the Big Daddy Sandwich and it was OK. The sandwich was dry and lacked some flavor. The fries were great. There is some tough competition nearby, so I hope adjustments can be made. The owners and staff seem legit, would love to see them succeed.

This place is soooo good! The sandwiches are huge so bring the stretchy pants. The chicken was piping hot and tender and juicy just like grandmas Sunday dinner. I got the spicy daddy which has an Asian fusion thing going on with the slaw and sauce, and the bun honestly tasted like it was baked fresh. The fries with all the different sauces made me a very happy girl and if that wasn’t enough I had a salted chocolate chip cookie that was both crisp on the edges and gooey and warm inside. It was naughty good y’all. I will 100% be going back to try every single item on the menu!
