I could say this place is perfect but it just keeps getting better. The food has no equal in the area and the service is top notch always. I keep coming back and money flows out of my bank accounts to be replaced by pure joy. Even the potatoes have somehow gone from ordinary to magnificent truly a place to celebrate life.
Everything here was amazing from the food to the service to the nice little touches. Came to celebrate a birthday, which came with a keepsake Polaroid picture and card signed by the chef. The "candle" on the table serves as the dipping oil for the bread. The smashed potatoes was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. I'm typically not a fan of dessert, but if you like peanut butter & banana, don't pass up on the roasted banana pie. I thought to myself "a banana pie's a banana pie you can't really put a twist on it... I could get it anywhere. Why splurge on it here?" I was so wrong. It was amazing.
From the moment we sat down we were treated like family. We truly enjoyed everything had had to eat and cant wait to go back again. From the extremely tender steaks packed with flavor to the dipping sauce for the bread, it's safe to say they know what they are doing there.
My husband and I tried Georgia James on a whim 2 nights ago and it was fantastic. From the bread service to dessert, every course was delicious. The highlights were:
• Bread service from Bread Man–the sourdough is some of the best I've ever had.
• The mussels appetizer–it is hard to find good mussels in Houston, and these were unique and delicious. The bread that was served with these was also amazing.
• The Long Bone Ribeye was cooked perfectly and I don't think I have ever had that perfect of a crust on a steak.
To top things off, our server, Joe Ann, was exceptional. She explained the specials, answered questions about the menu, and exemplified what good restaurant service is. We will definitely be back.
Good service. Food was mostly excellent. Would take a pass on the creme brulee and the hangar steak next time. Otherwise, the food was great. Seems like a good place for groups. A lot of the dishes are sized for sharing.
