Kelley's Country Cookin

Had a quick lunch here today. Service was great and food was good. So many items on the menu. It would be hard not to find something you like. We were asked 7 times if we needed anything. Very attentive.
I had the Chicken Fried Steak lunch special.

The breading tasted great but didn't stick well to the meat. Mashed potatoes were real and tasted great, green beans were canned but the addition of bacon and onion made them much better. Corn was sweet and buttery. They serve rolls and cornbread at the table. Cornbread was crispy and crumbly. It might have been me but it almost tasted like a yellow cake cupcake. I ate all of it. :) Good experience, I'll be back again.
Be sure and spend an extra $0.25 to get you a roll of mints. I got mine for a souvenir.

Giant portions of good home cooked food at a crazy low price. Order absolutely anything off of the daily special share it and feed 3 people for under 10 bucks. I'm not kidding the food comes out fast and hot. So just order a little bit to start with and if you're still hungry order more. Big huge friendly place suitable for large groups on big tables and comfortable chairs home style menu I'm blown away. I'm in town for 3 days with my family and we are going to eat there everyday until we're out of town. If you go through Houston and you don't eat here you have missed a true Texas Hometown experience!

Good food!! Fast service. We got to airport early and made an excellent choice to dine there. I would definitely eat there again. I would highly recommend it!! All 4 in my party enjoyed food.

Always a pleasant atmosphere. Waitresses and/or waiters are extremely pleasant and helpful. The food is excellent and more than just enough, we always have to have a to go box.

I don't know if they changed managers or what, but the service has vastly Improved. The food is great! If you want real country cooking go to Kelly's, don't waste your time at imitation places like cracker barrel, Cheddars and the likes. Food is always fresh and hot. Service has really gotten good and I always see the manager/owner(?) lady walking around now.
