An excellent choice after a day at the museums or zoo. The entrees are varied and delicious. Chose the Gulf fish, which was a pan fried grouper. Pleased with my selection. Others in my group enjoyed the pork and beans and the fish of the day , a whole fried snapper. All excellent. Topped it off with coffee and bread pudding. Service is courteous and attentive. We will be back.
I went here at the Lucille's Restaurant yesterday and I found out that it was a decent place to eat. The interior was spotless. I like their menu because it was easy to choose the best food. My order is served fast and presentable that's why I want to visit the place again with my family.
Good Food + Great Vibe! I went there for a Sunday brunch, enjoyed the Grits and Shrimp, I know boring.. so what. My party had Ox tail omelets and Croissant french toast with chicken wings (the winning plate). All plates were tasty .. you know I had try them. Music provided by the jazz band to set the vibe for a perfect Sunday Morning in Houston.
Lovely relaxing spot between Museum District and Midtown. Food and the decor are both reminiscent and modern. Shade trees on the outside. Clean lines and warm tones inside. Friendly atmosphere of happy luncheoners.
Give the specials a try. I had the soft shelled crab sandwich with slaw and pickles. The crab was juicy and plump. You could tell the kitchen knew they had a good dish to offer that day. Pickles were house made perfection: crisp and tangy, tiny bit sweet. This place is good with vinegar. The slaw and salad dressing were also just right and light.
They offer reimbursement on the pay lot from them. If it's full you can find free street parking about 2 blocks up. Put on your inner loop lunch list!
Lucille’s is a nice little spot serving up Southern comfort food and great music. We visited for brunch and it was quite busy, I would recommend making a reservation. We went with the cheese biscuits and fried green tomatoes to start. Biscuits were not bad, but the cheese overwhelmed the flavor a bit. The green tomatoes were quite tasty as well but didn’t bring anything crazy to the table. The star of the show was the chicken and waffles. Crispy chicken, paired with a waffle that was crispy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside. The pepper, mint, and strawberry toppings provided additional flavor elements that took it over the top. The chicken fried was honestly quite plain and didn’t do much for me. Finally, the Mac and cheese side dish is a must have. Cheesy, gooey, and just a hint of truffle. Fantastically seasoned and baked to perfection.
