edit: So sad these are all closing. If you have not had the chance, they have a couple left in Houston. I don't know how they went out of business. You could get a lunch there cheaper and infinitely better than McDonald's next door. Maybe they should have changed the name to Cafe Tropical instead as Chicken was not the only thing they had there. You could get the roasted chicken, but they also had roast pork and (my favorite) Calypso beef.
I hope the owners can reboot with a better name and the same food.
I'm very sad to see this place close!!! I know this delicious food from back home in Miami. But when I heard it closed permanently I knew exactly why!! It was the employees! I'm putting this so the company knows the truth from the horses mouth. They killed it. Because when they first opened all was perfect, I felt I was back home. But as time went by the employees changed & things started changing. They weren't weren't weren't keeping it like when it started & when you change what shouldn't be changed you loose that spark! I'm very sad to see this place close! I hope that the management or owners pay attention to this so they can save the rest of the locations here in the city!
Food was good, like the decor, didn't expect to have to buss my table with the price of the food being so expensive. The thing that sticks out to me though was the service: if you think that a rattle snake is friendly then this is your place. This was my first time eating at the establishment and I had questions. Was met with attitude and the sense that I was wasting the person's time. If you don't like your job find another one. That is the beauty of this country. Find another job if you don't like dealing with people. Would I come back? Maybe at a different time of day and possibly during the week instead of the weekend.
It was my first time visiting this location. Upon entry immediately I notice how spacious and clean the dinning area was. My admiration was short lived when I noticed an employee sleeping on the bench seats. This I think was unprofessional. If he wasn't feeling well I am sure there was an office or some other area for him to take a nap. Otherwise, the food tasted as good as it did in Florida where I was first introduced to it.
Price is right and the food is good. Not to much to complain about unless your a picky person. The time I went it was delightful.
