Prey was an interesting spot. A group of us went here for dinner. It’s located at the top of a plaza. It has nice set up with mood lighting and everything is, more or less, black. The website suggests a classy dress code, but when we got there, I noted plenty of people in t-shirts, etc.
Food wise, the everything was good. My wife and I had the oxtail and lamb chops. The oxtail slid right off the bone. I found it interesting no side dishes came with the entrees though. That said, the mac n cheese was good. I left exceptionally full. If you review the menu, you will see things are pricey. We didn’t drink, so I can’t comment on that aspect. The servers were friendly and appeared to stay pretty busy.
Atmosphere wise, the location was somewhat small, but does a good job of holding a large number of people. They had a DJ when we arrived. While the music selection was great, lots of old school Hip Hop, it was way too loud. I couldn’t hear the majority of the conversations that occurred at our table. I noticed most people at other tables had to lean over the tables to speak with each other.
Overall, I would return.
our waitress Gladys was so amazing! Loved her very sweet, patient & kind. Amazing service all across the board the food was very good, the chef is great! everything we ordered came right out. would definitely be back to prey!
Deon was absolutely amazing!!! His bartending was top tier. Not only was the drink spectacular, his personality really made the experience that much better. He was knowledgeable and accommodating. HATS OFF TO CHEF DAVID! My lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The jerk marinade had the right touch of heat. The rice paired very well. “Prey” is easily the number one spot to patronize when in the Houston area!
