Foods were fine but I was told to pay additional 3.95% charges if paid with credit card. I ended up had to use my cash to pay for my meals.
The 煎饼馃子 (jian bing guo zi) is excellent, and the Xinjiang-style lamb skewers are great too.
The food is tasty and hearty for a good price. Highly recommend!
Don't know what to order.. but person working there was very nice and patient and recommended delicious dishes for us. There are pictures of the food items on the wall, if that helps! Will be returning to try more things.
It's a hidden treasure in Chinatown. This restaurant offers very traditional eastern Chinese food and they are very authentic.
If you are familiar with this region in China and like more authentic food, this place is THE place to go to.
The broth in Ma La Tang is so rich. They must brew it for hours. The deep fried intestine is always so juicy and crispy. Chinese pickle soup is home made, every time I eat it I feel like I am in my hometown again. Their chicken sausage is very unique and well fried..
They recently added a new dish: The COPPER hot pot with coal. I have not find it anywhere else in Houston offers that yet. You can do half regular half spicy. They have a package deal including meat and seafood plus veggies for $58. Enough for 4 people. We always add new snacks to your order. Their ingredient is very fresh, especially the toro. I love it that they put a lot of thought and caring into making their food, and since this is a mom and pop shop, they can customize your order even if they are not on the menu as long as they have the stuff in the kitchen to make it.
Highly recommended !!! You wont regret it.
Authentic (as far as I know) Chinese street food, and it is very good! My friends and I ordered a bunch of different things and they were all delicious. The chicken skewer was my favorite
