Didnt realize this is a restaurant for the hotel. There are no bathrooms inside- you actually have to walk down the hall to the hotel to use them- strange. Other than that, the food has always been good. I would say it is upscale type. I had the Buffalo Burger. My Son loves the Truffle Mac-n-cheese.
The special Valentine's Day deal was nice. I was a little disappointed with the dessert. The fried french toast was dry and there was little to no mascarpone like advertised. The lobster spaghetti is great. My husband thought the would be more "surf" on the surf and turf but it was still good.
The food is excellent and the staff was attentive, even taking a photo on behalf of us for a birthday celebration. I had the Allen's fried chicken with tea. Highly recommend the mac and cheese and the jalapeno jam was excellent. I did try some plantain chips, which while good, were not the best I have had. The presentation was excellent along with the table setting. Only noticed some insignificant wear on the chairs and men's restroom seemed to be in good order.
Our party of five arrived on Valentine's Day and learned that we had to order the Valentine menu for two. (We were not informed beforehand during the reservation process or on the website that the regular dinner menu was not available.) Manager Monica Marquez was called, and was very accommodating in responding to our situation (half-price for singles on the menu for two, modifications to dishes for reasons of diet and taste, and a complimentary bottle of champagne!) The service was a bit slow, and although they clearly offer corkage and glasses for wine brought in, it took the waiter a while to provide this service, even though it cost $9.60 a bottle. When it came, the food was absolutely delicious, fresh and well prepared.
Had a Brunch date with the husband a few weeks ago. For a Sunday morning (aka prime brunch time), they were severely understaffed....the restaurant itself was not full but we had to wait a while to get seated, then wait even longer for the food all because of staffing issues.
The restaurant is beautifully designed the food is decent, and for the location, the price is reasonable.
We had the salmon Benedict and the pineapple waffle...
