Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

I’m new to Houston and this has been the best BBQ I’ve had! Love the set up and how affordable everything is! Very cool atmosphere.

Brisket is always tender, juicy, and most importantly smokey - or it could hardly be called BBQ otherwise. The cream corn is my favorite side. They do lack a good sauce, or alternatives, so 1 less star. It's just kind of there... Luckily the meat makes up for it. Sometimes I just bring it home to pair it with a better sauce, which I use sparingly, but want a flavor that enhances the experience.

It's an American BBQ classic. Brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, sausages, cream corn, etc. You pay at the cashier and take your food to long shared tables. Flavor is great, ambiance is on par. I would only add some sort of service to the tables, because after paying, you're pretty much on your own.

As a Rudy's franchise store, it's a little more refined then most of the others that I've tried. So great food, but the atmosphere is a little more than the gas station feel of the older ones. This isnt a bad thing, simply an observation. The staff is friendly, but not quite as warm as I remember. Keep in mind that this was a lunch time visit on Sunday... Very busy.

Just walking in, the smell of smoke is strong and delicious! Being new to the store, they gave us samples of the brisket and turkey. I've never tasted something as delicious as their brisket. So sad we found this place on the last day of our Texas tours. The brisket is deeply flavorful and just melts in your mouth. So perfectly done!! The flavor stays with you for hours after. The brisket with their creamed corn is a must.
