this new restaurant took over Karp which I missed and sad that they had to close down even though it seem crowded each weekend.
I thought with this new similar concept restaurant it will be better than Karp since they will have more adequate staffing but I was wrong , staffing seem young and not experienced had some minor mishaps but forgiven since went during soft opening.
food was ok decent not wow and prices are definitely higher for such small portions. and I know it was their soft opening but still they had quite a few dishes not available to order from their menu which was already small and limited in the first place

This place is more like a bar restaurant, although children are welcomed I wouldn't recommend bringing them. The Food was delicious, but portions were small and extremely expensive compared to nearby restaurants for the same dish. As you can see the egg rolls in my hand is tiny. Wait staff are young people, they were polite but service was way too slow. Maybe with experience they will get better at it.

Excellent food with the great atmosphere and the very affordable price! Went there with my family (6 adults & 2 toddlers), order pretty much most of the things they recommended as you can see in my pic and the bill comes out to be around $180.
The portion is not big since the price is on the lower end, so make sure you ask before putting in your order. The owner is also so so friendly and gave us his honest thought on what to order and what not, and I really appreciate that!

Of all the soft opening places we've been to, we don't remember any other restaurant that impresses us so much as Yummy An Choi. The place is completely overcrowded and the food comes out slower than usual, but it’s all worth it because everything we order is delicious and reasonably priced.

We learn about the place from a post on Chowdown in Chinatown group. I guess a lot of people have the same idea plus it’s a holiday, so there is a considerable waiting time to be seated and for the food to arrive.

We don’t mind waiting because we just enjoying ourselves chilling at the bar and looking at all the busy actions that are going on.

That being said, we are extremely impressed by a new crew of young kids in front of the house who just started today. They are so calm and collective that they rival some of the veteran waitstaffs, under the capable direction of the manager.

The Hu Tieu Nam Vang, or Cambodian Phnom Penh, a favorite noodle soup that Vanessa loves to try at new places meets our expectations and we will go back to have this dish again whenever we have the craving. The clear broth has good umami, rice noodles cooked in proper firmness, and the proteins and toppings like Pork, Prawns, and Livers are all fresh and clean.

I tend to add a bowl of Xi Quach Cup if it’s available, and a bowl of Beef Bone with Meat and Marrow that I like to add to any noodle soup. I’m so glad I order it because it’s such a good value with so much extra protein, and the Bone Marrow always adds extra flavors to any Noodle Soup.

The So Diep Nuong is a decent appetizer with 4 pieces of Grilled Scallops served on its shell. Many people order this, you take it or leave it, but I'm glad we tried it.

What surprises us the most is the Dungeness Crab Cluster with Salted Egg Yolk. The Crab has good amount of meat as you can see from the picture, and is generously coated with a layer of fragrant and crispy Salted Egg Yolk. At any other place, this dish could easily cost at least around $50 or more, but it’s only $18 here.

We came into this small and crowded restaurant with low expectations, but we are blown away by the food quality and service during their busy Soft Opening. They also have a 10% off special until July 10th. We will definitely go back to try a few dishes that we’re interested in like the Soft Shell Crab with Tamarind Sauce that has sold out, and the special “Netted” Fried Egg Rolls, among other Fusion Street Food that’s the concept of this restaurant.
