Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q

Pretty good BBQ joint in North Houston Woodlands area. I had dinner there with my parents. Great potato salad. Pretty good BBQ beans. Great brisket. Sausage could be better. Baked potato with BBQ looks awesome. My dad loves it. BBQ sauce was also good but I like sweet spicey. I would recommend for a quick BBQ fix.

There's only a few places in the area that are better than Rudy's. I say that because they're open later, are typically super consistent with the taste /quality of their meats and the service is always pretty spot on. This last visit the other night was the only one I can think of where I left feeling a little underwhelmed with the flavor and texture of the 1.5 lbs of brisket we bought and ate some of there. We brought most of it home and never looked at it again. The creamed corn had no flavor, which again is not the norm. Call it an off night I suppose but I'll definitely try it again in the future! When they're on point their brisket stuffed potatoes are the best!

Pretty good. In the past, I think I've only had Rudy's breakfast tacos and they're pretty good, but we were down in Houston for a tournament and the team wanted to eat at Rudy's for dinner. My son and I got the ribs - pork ribs - and I grabbed some pickles and onions to complete my meal. The food was very good, but the prices seem a little high - not bad for good BBQ, but the sides were a little pricey. All in all, good place to grab a meal. Some friends ordered the prime rib (yes, they have prime rib on the weekend) and it looked awesome! My ribs were good - good flavor, plenty of pork on the bone - not disappointed.

Wow what a great experience at Rudy's. We ordered a little bit of everything and were glad we did. Everything was outstanding, some a bit more to our liking than others, but that's simply personal preference. The sides weren't special, akin to a generic grocery store deli...but we weren't there for the sides. The counter staff was fantastic, although they were always on the heavy side of he poundage...the beers were cold and the facilities were very clean and well kept. The ladies in the store in front were very welcoming and also thanked us on the way out. The biggest thing that struck me was the customers...there was a mix of everyone there and because of the layout with long tables there was a very friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. I highly recommend giving Rudy's a try, you will be glad you did!

Best brisket in Texas. Coming from Nashville to Houston, I was disappointed in the barbecue, since I had heart Texas had the best. I didn't like most of the sauces - either too bland, or kept in a hot kettle so long the sauce had a bitter taste. But Rudy's has the best sauce, the best brisket, and really good side dishes, like their creamed corn. I like the country atmosphere they have with the picnic tables, fixins bar, and self serve soft drinks. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
