    Very good food. Service was a little slow and they only had 3 fried Oreos instead of the 4 I had ordered, but they also gave me a pecan pie to make up for it. So with all that being said, I would go back.

    Quick, friendly service.
    Chicken and Mashed potatoes are good. Biscuit was great!!
    MAC & CHEESE is NOT good!!!

    I love Popeyes chicken and the sides....but I have visited this location twice and was very disappointed both times.
    The chicken tenders are very small and mostly breading...but they have been over cooked both visits. Honestly they are like eating jerkey!!!! There is very little meat, over cooked and tough.
    The sides/vegetables have been awesome on both visits. I love the rice and beans and the Cole slaw is nice and creamy...not vinegary.
    I may by my chicken tenders elsewhere and buy my sides from Popeyes.
    FYI the chicken/jerky tenders were extremely salty.

    I am really glad they cut a Popeye's in Athens. They are my favorite. Lately in this area though my orders are given to me wrong. One place even wanted me to bring my food back to prove it was wrong. Well I didn't and will not go there and spend 50+ dollars. Popeye's we checked before leaving and we got turf without our surf. They made good and gave more surf to make up. The only thing we didn't do is count the chicken pieces so instead of 12 we came home with 10. The two pieces were the wings (my favorite) we didn't call and complain but hopefully the next time our order will be right. Eating out is very expensive with our crew and every piece counts.

    Great chicken BUT why stop offering a military veterans discount? The people here are great absolutely the chicken was fresh and HOT! KFC is offering that military discount, just saying. I can get chicken anywhere. Didn't know if Popeyes Chicken was going anti military or something? Could it be the owner doesn't appreciate our service?
