Jason's Deli

Three of us just left Jason's Deli in Pharr. We were very disappointed that they seemed to have changed the Irish Potato Soup recipe. We were craving it, and it takes 30 minutes to get there. After much anticipation, we were completely disappointed! At first we thought they gave us the wrong soup. It was a yellowish color rather than creamy white and the taste was completely off! They assured us it was the correct soup. Plus we practically froze while we were there, making it difficult to enjoy our meals! It felt like MAYBE 65 degrees in there. We were far too cold to stay for dessert or a second trip to the salad bar! They do have a fabulous salad bar though!

Salad bar was fully loaded I loved it. Half club was still a whole lot of sandwich. Soft serve was great. This Jason’s deli never fails me!

Thr food is excellent but the service is not the greatest. To go orders frequently have something incorrect. The staff is not proactive about offering help. I've often had to ask for help despite 4 or 5 employees talking amongst themselves behind the counter while I've waited for them to acknowledge me. I've been ignored more than once until I say something. They aren't rude, but they're not helpful either. Asking for help ordering is confusing since they aren't able to explain the menu. I prefer ordering online myself and avoiding interaction with them because I do love the food.

Excellent service. Friendly staff. Clean. Had salad bar. Everything super fresh. Love their new addition of pita crisps..and I think tzatiki sauce. They also have lemon poppy mini muffins. Wait staff comes around often to check on you. Nice touch. Staff cleans tables as soon as customers leave.

Happy St Patrick's day! Jason's deli is the right place to go for your Ruben sandwich in McAllen TX. They pile on the meat high too. LOVED🍀 IT! I got a one trip salad bar, so many choices! So FRESH too. And to be on top of the holiday spirit, Green (colored) vanilla ice cream today!! And the service was great and everyone pleasant and super helpful.
