The Corner Grub House

This was a fabulous place to eat. An adorable town to visit. A beautiful memorial to the military that gave us our freedom. Sulphur Springs, TX.

This is a good local choice for comfort food and tasty home-style favorites. My party enjoyed the lunch special meatloaf (delicious), the fresh well-stocked salad bar, and the excellent sides: mashed potatoes with gravy, fired okra, & broccoli. There’s a decent beer selection and several other liquor options for diners so inclined. Don’t be fooled (like we were) by the sign on the door that says, “No Public Restroom.” After ducking out of the place briefly to use the public toilets in the park across the street, we were told by our server that they did indeed have one hidden around the corner in the kitchen. Perhaps the sign would have been better worded, “Restroom for Customers Only.”
I guess I’m not very smart; I should have asked.

This place was awesome! The soft rolls with the cinnamon butter was amazing. I ordered the steak sandwich and baked potato and it was oh so good! I will definitely drop in again next time I'm in the area! Almost forgot to mention the sweet tea is really good too.

Super packed on a Wednesday lunch and the staff was super friendly and the food and drinks were amazing. Coming from a Louisiana girl... their boiled shrimp is phenomenal... along with their cocktail sauce. Stuffed jalapeno peppers are delicious. Looked around at other patrons plates and everything looked mouth watering. My new favorite place.

What a fabulous experience! The staff was super friendly, courteous and on point with attentiveness and the place had character and was clean, including the restrooms! And now for the best news . . . by FAR, the best home cooked food we have had, probably ever, when dining out! No joke! Fresh salad bar with plenty of variety, best mashed potatoes ever and onion rings, fried chicken and fish were cooked to perfection. Kudos to the cook! Definitely our favorite stop in Sulphur Springs!
