We stopped in here before a 7:30 show at Buddy Holly Hall. 5:15 was a perfect arrival time to make it to the show comfortably. Our server, David, made sure to keep our plans in mind. The Nicolett serves 3-course meals with various choices for each courses, with the option to skip one or more courses. We had all three courses, bread service beforehand, plus cocktails. The waitstaff took excellent care of us during our visit. David was awesome (as were the rest of the staff) and the food was delicious and high-quality. This place is defintiely in my top 3 (maybe 1 or 2?) or so favorite restaurants in Lubbock.
Service was great, and the locale is beautiful. But the food wasn't phenomenal compared to the price we paid for it. The wait times between courses were far too long, about 20min between plates. The food itself was okay, but both of our mains were cold by the time they reached us, and my partner's roasted potatoes were visibly soggy. Good cocktails, good bread, unfortunately wouldn't return.
Had dinner here tonight for my husbands birthday. Sat on the patio, which was quiet, comfortable and well spaced for privacy. I see a review referring to the 'tiny' portions. If you're looking for huge Texas-sized plates, there are plenty of other places for you to go in town. The Nicolett's dishes are of the highest quality, and each dish is comprised of thoughtful flavor combinations, meant to be savored and enjoyed slowly. If you do so, I promise you will be satiated at the end of the night without having to spend a fortune. On top of the menu being creative, the food was just down right fantastic. We found the prices in line with the quality of the food and care taken to prepare it. The wait staff is young but attentive and consummate professionals. Kid was our server and made the whole experience enjoyable. We will be back! Thank you!
Very good setting, excellent service. Good cocktails. Buckwheat rolls were a good start, but the rest of the menu, was pretty disappointing. Desert salad from kale was way too salty (good quality produce but completely ruined). Lamb was again too salty and boring.
Curd desert could be interesting ( olive oil and matcha were delicious twist), if it was less sweet. I doubt we will be back. Sorry
Outstanding meal! Very high quality ingredients and wonderful service. Much higher standard than anywhere else we've tried in Lubbock. In fact, it reminded us of some of our favorites from places like London, Prague, and Strasbourg. Super high quality food with lots of local ingredients, extreme attention to detail, thoughtful and developed flavors, and fantastic staff. We were very impressed and can't wait to go back.
