“Enjoyable experience. About half the crowd were locals, so it's not just a tourist trap. The place is a dichotomy between tourist trap and dive. My Belgium beers were very reasonably priced yet the ribeye was quite overpriced. I enjoyed everything! Some of the best onion rings I have had in a long time. Ribeye was cooked correctly and good flavor and quality. Service is slow in Dallas time but very speedy in Africa time. Overall a satisfying dining experience. If you are visiting Jefferson, add it to your list for dinner dining. They have a large variety of dishes and great beer and wine selections”

“Nice little local place! We arrived before it was getting busy. The waitress & cook (baker too) introduced themselves, gave us a warm welcome! Told us what people have said was good & everything homemade. We had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes/gravy & greenbeans! Great portions, plus dessert included!! Also tried the chicken fried steak with gravy a couple of days before and it was as big as a plate and food was fast, hot and delicious. Wait staff was friendly and checked on me several times. “Great little restaurant. We walked in with a party of 6 and seated right away. We got lucky because shortly after the rest of the members of our motorcycle ride came in. They accommodated everyone. They even have seating outside. The weather was perfect for a June evening! Workers were great! Super pleasant especially for an unexpected full house. Food was so good i forgot to take a photo of my crab cakes and husband's rib eye. Short ribs were fall off the bone tender! Highly recommended!”

“The burgers are delicious here!! The staff are always very friendly and are great at making the right recommendation based on what you like. My only complaint was the last few times I have been here it took some time to get my order taken and then even longer to get my food. To be fair they did have a good amount of people and the second trip I was told there would be some wait. Either way a must visit if you are in the Jefferson area and want and absolutely delicious burger!!”

They were fall-off-the-bone tender. we also ordered what I think we're called riverboat fries. regardless of the name they are fries smothered in cheese and onions and in my case, pulled pork because they were out of brisket. I got the jalapenos on the side because my guest doesn't like spicy food. They were way more than two of us could eat and we got the small order. If you don't have several people in your party don't order the large ones. Everyone there was very friendly. They were out of brisket and sausage because we got there just a few minutes before closing time. This is a really great place to eat. I absolutely recommend it.”

“Love this place. Second time here and it's better than we remember! We are staying in the Jay Gould room and it's just perfect. The owners are on site and very hands on. Enjoyed cigars late night with other guests and the owners. Now I'm sitting outside this morning close to the fire with a warm cup of coffee. No better way to start the morning. Can't wait for the gourmet breakfast that we'll be having shortly. If you are looking for a fun little place for a romantic or family get away I cant recommend this place enough! “The food is good and the service was excellent. I'm from San Antonio so I am used to excellent Mexican food, but this place surprised me with a good menu and tasty food. My only issue for me was that they didn't have any hot sauce or peppers to spice it up. They do have some mild sauces that could be good for those who are not used to the heat like I am.”
